1:1 Teaching Assistant 

24.5 hours per week. Term time only until start of GCSEs (20.5 weeks)

£10,300 (actual gross salary). Inclusive of holiday pay.

We are seeking to appoint an experienced Teaching Assistant to support a Year 11 student with Autism Spectrum Conditions (ASC), affecting speech and language and sensory needs, on a part time, fixed term basis from October 2018 until May 2019.  The role will involve supporting the student in class under the direction of the subject teacher, and supporting the student with small group and 1:1 activities under the direction of the SENCo. The successful applicant will have experience working with students with ASC or difficulties which affect speech and language, and sensory needs. We are looking for someone who has excellent communication skills; can build strong relationships with pupils and staff; is flexible, self-motivated and enthusiastic; and who is able to work collaboratively as part of a team. 

Working hours:

Monday 12:00 - 13:00; 14:00 - 17:30

Tuesday 08:30 - 12:30

Wednesday 08:30 - 13:00; 14:00 - 17:00

Thursday 11:00 - 13:00

Friday 10:00 - 13:00; 14:00 - 15:30

Saturday 08:30 - 10:30

Working days:

1st October to 19th October

29th October to 22nd November

26th November to 13th December

9th January to 15th February

25th February to 28th March

24th April to 11th May

Clifton College has a strong reputation for Learning Support and offers students support in both group and individual lessons. The Learning Support Department is a supportive environment in which to work and comprises of the Head of Learning Support, an Educational Psychologist, a Senior Administrator and a number of teaching staff.
