Full Time, TTO, 1:1 Teaching Assistant – King Henry VIII Junior School

35 hours per week (08.30am until 4pm) for 37 weeks per year, temporary contract, reviewed annually.

Salary: £22,635 FTE  Actual: £17,798

King Henry VIII Junior School are looking for a 1:1 Teaching Assistant who is supportive, caring, resilient and sympathetic to the needs of children with ASD. As a 1:1 Teaching Assistant you will support the social and emotional growth and academic progress of a delightful Year 4 pupil. The role will include supporting in class, working on a 1:1 basis and also providing support during transition times.

The successful candidate will be qualified to at least GCSE level (or equivalent) in English and Maths. Ideally you will have previous experience of working with students with similar needs. However, if you have a personal connection or real-life experience of working with people with Autism in a different setting then we would be really keen to hear from you.

About King Henry VIII School

We are a leading co-educational day school, providing a diverse range of opportunities for young people, from 11 to 18. We serve as the direct feeder school to King Henry VIII Junior School (HMC 3-11).

Staff are all well-qualified and enthusiastic, and have high expectations of themselves and their pupils. We received another outstanding inspection report in May 2023. The school has a strong reputation for pastoral care, and teaching staff are committed to co-curricular activities. Generous fee remission for the children of permanent staff is available at all Foundation schools (from age 3) subject to a minimum number of hours worked. There is an excellent and loyal support staff, who understand their vital role in contributing to pupils’ growth and achievements. All staff benefit from free membership of our on-site Sports Club.
