About the role: We are looking for a talented and committed 1:1 Teaching Assistant to support a pupil who has significant communication difficulties. You will be working in the classroom and implementing programmes of support designed specifically to meet the pupil's needs. This is a fantastic opportunity for an established colleague with SEN experience who aspires to grow and develop as an outstanding Teaching Assistant within our Trust and to make a real difference in their development

We are ambitious for all of our pupils and believe that a 1:1 Teaching Assistant, working with our talented teaching staff, will enhance the pupil's learning experience. Our support staff ensure that they are well prepared and continuously develop themselves for the benefit of the children.

Ideally, you will already hold an NVQ level 3 in Teaching and Learning and will share our vision to support pupils to make progress in learning. Previous experience of using Makaton to communicate is highly advantageous.

This role is offered on a fixed term basis in the first instance, offering an actual salary of £7,824 (FTE £17,634) based on 20 hours per week, Term Time only.

Being a part of Leigh Academies Trust: As of 1st September 2020, our Trust will comprise 28 geographically organised academies (11 secondaries, 15 primaries and 2 special) educating over 16,000 students, and employing over 2,500 talented staff.
