About the Opportunity

Are you an experienced Teaching Assistant? Do you want to change the direction in your Teaching Assistance career to working on a 1-2-1 basis? Or do you want a new challenge to work with a different individual in a new and exciting environment? If you have the enthusiastic, natural ability to work on a 1-2-1 basis as a Teaching Assistant with an aspiring pupil, we want to hear from you!

Working with the Class/Specialist Teacher or SENCo in participating in activities designed to meet the emotional, physical and learning needs of the individual child, you will also assist in the planning, delivery and monitoring of interventions and key skills to support and enable progress. You will monitor pupils’ responses to learning activities and encourage them to take an interest in their own learning and development and maintain effective relationships with individual pupils and groups to ensure that pupils achieve learning targets.

When appropriate/needed you may have to apply the practice of Team-Teach. You will confidently support pupils in developing effective relationships with peers, younger pupils and adults; challenging anti-social behaviour, supporting them working individually, as part of a group or with the whole class to build their confidence in a range of areas.

About You

  • As an experienced Teaching Assistant, you will:
  • Be experienced in working on a 1-2-1 basis with pupils or as a Class Teaching Assistant
  • Confidently able to build relationships with pupils, Teachers and parents
  • Have a positive attitude
  • Be an ambassador to the ethos and core values of the School and White Horse Federation both inside and outside the classroom
  • Have experience in assisting the planning and delivery of interventions and/or class tasks
  • Be motivated and a team player
  • Be flexible, energetic and enthusiastic
