Your Role as a Secondary Art Teacher
At Newton, teaching Art means more than technique, it’s about helping students develop their creativity, critical thinking, and appreciation of culture and self-expression.
You will:
Deliver engaging and inspiring lessons based on the British curriculum
Foster creativity and innovation through practical and theoretical work
Support students in developing technical skills and personal artistic style
Promote critical thinking and reflection through art history and contemporary practice
Contribute to curriculum development and enrichment activities
Support student wellbeing through strong pastoral care and positive relationships
What We’re Looking For
We seek educators who are:
Experienced in teaching Art within the British curriculum for a minimum of 5 years
Qualified with a Bachelor’s degree in Art, Art Education, or a related field (Master’s preferred)
Holders of a recognised teaching qualification (PGCE, QTS, or equivalent)
Passionate about student-centred, inclusive education
Strong communicators with excellent classroom management
Committed to continuous professional development and growth
