Academic Results

  • BSKL Primary students regularly exceed expectations, and our Year 6 students perform an average of 10 points better than their international school peers on end of year assessments.
  • Amongst our IGCSE cohort 89% of all grades achieved were A*, A, or B and 94% of all grades achieved a C or higher in 2025.
  • 97% pass rate on A-levels and 75% of all grades achieved were A*, A, or B in 2025.
  • Previous university placements include Oxford University, St. Andrew’s University, University College London, London School of Economics, King’s College London, Imperial College, Durham University, University of Edinburgh, California Berkeley and Barnard College, Columbia University, New York.

About the role

We are looking for an experienced teacher of English, the ideal candidate will demonstrate the following: 

  • an ability to clearly articulate and evidence efficacy of responsive practice to affect student learning
  • an ability to clearly articulate and evidence professional growth, both academic and pastoral
  • a continued interest in educational research and further professional development
  • an investment in collaboration 
  • an ability to communicate clearly through varied platforms and within different contexts to a range of audiences
  • experience of and, or interest, in curriculum design
  • experience of EAL/SL English teaching at IGCSE and/or KS3 level (a CELTA qualification would be advantageous)
  • experience of teaching Media Studies at IGCSE and/or A Level
About you

With the ability to create a classroom culture where there are no limits to what can be achieved, you will have a university degree in your specialist subject, a teaching qualification plus considerable teaching experience and knowledge of the curriculum. Receptive to feedback and ready to embrace change, you will be keen to share best practice with colleagues and peers.

A strong ambassador for the school, you will be able to develop new ways to engage students and parents with the wider school and Nord Anglia Education community. Your strong motivation and communication skills will also enable you to create a feeling of energy, excitement, and personal investment within the classroom. You will also be able to meet visa-related requirements for Malaysia.

The British International School of Kuala Lumpur (BSKL) is one of the leading international schools in Kuala Lumpur offering contemporary British international education to students from Pre-Nursery through to Sixth Form (ages  2-18).
