Role Overview

At our school, Mentors are more than teachers—they are guides, role models, and champions of creativity. We are looking for a passionate and talented Art Mentor to lead inspiring and inclusive art experiences across Primary and Secondary phases. This role is about unlocking potential, nurturing expression, and helping learners find their artistic voice.

Key Responsibilities:

·       Design and deliver engaging art experiences that are age-appropriate, inclusive, and aligned with learning objectives.

·       Inspire creativity and confidence in learners through exploration of various media: drawing, painting, sculpture, mixed media, and digital tools.

·       Create a supportive, open studio environment where learners feel safe to experiment and express themselves.

·       Mentor learners individually and in groups to develop technical skills and creative thinking.

·       Plan, organize, and curate exhibitions, displays, and collaborative art projects within the school and local community.

·       Collaborate with other mentors to connect art with wider learning themes and interdisciplinary projects.

·       Provide meaningful feedback and track learner progress through formative and summative assessments.

·       Promote and model the school’s values, encouraging curiosity, empathy, and resilience through artistic exploration.

·       Keep up to date with trends in contemporary art and innovative approaches to teaching and mentoring.

Qualifications & Skills:

·       Bachelor's Degree in Fine Arts, Art Education, or a related field (Master’s preferred).

·       Teaching qualification or equivalent experience in a mentor-based educational setting.

·       Experience working with both primary and secondary age groups.

·       Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to motivate and guide learners of all abilities.

·       Skilled in a range of traditional and contemporary art forms, including digital media.

·       A reflective practitioner with a growth mindset and a passion for lifelong learning.

Desirable:

·       Experience in exhibitions, art showcases, or leading creative initiatives.
