Essential Duties:
• To assist students, individually or in groups in developing academic, career and personal/social skills, goals and plans in collaboration with teachers and parents.
• To assist in the presentation, production and distribution of school handbooks and other related literature.
• To oversee the administration PSAT and ACER Tests
• To contribute periodically and when appropriate to the school newsletter.
• To maintain records of students’ progress towards graduation through credit checks.
• To inform parents and students of progress towards graduation by annual credit check letter.
• To assist in the selection of appropriate academic courses (e.g. IB /UNL courses).
• To prepare college/university guidebook.
• To schedule, announce and host college and university representative visits to the school.
• To coordinate visits to college fairs
• To act as advocate for students in the college/university admissions process.
• To host a college/university application workshop for students and their parents.
• To update college and university catalogues and prospectuses
• To carry out group guidance regarding the college/university application process, regarding essay writing, college admissions tests, extracurricular activities and other requirements
• To distribute other college/university related information such as financial aid, scholarships and summer study programmes.
• To schedule individual meetings with students and parents regarding college/university planning.
• To provide appropriate school documents for college/university applications such as transcripts and school profile.
• To write letters of recommendation to accompany college/university.
• To make sure the teachers recommend their students for colleges/universities before the deadlines.
• To assist students in selecting programmes of study to enhance career planning.
• To conduct information nights to parents, students and faculty when needed.
• To assist in the admissions process.
