Job brief

We are looking for an experienced ESL teacher to join our team. You’ll organize courses for non-native level speakers with diverse activities and methods that cover all aspects of the English language (speaking, writing, and comprehending). 

Scope of work

ESL teachers prepare course materials and design lessons that cover all aspects of the English language, whether written or verbal. Keep track of student progress and customize individualized plans for students with special requirements. Also responsible for creating a positive class environment and encouraging students to reach their learning goals.

ESL teacher duties include:

• Organizing coursework and learning materials.

• Assessing student progress and creating reports

• Following appropriate policies for teaching English as a second language.

• 20+ classroom lessons per week 

• Google Classroom lesson plans

• Multiple events planning

• Attend a Lead Teacher departmental meeting

• Write rubrics for the term

• Complete gradebook work

• Create, print and mark homework

• Duty roles every day

• Attend Staff meetings

• Run multiple ECAs

• Plan and run school trips

• Plan and run Christmas Shows

• Mark student work

• Cover absent colleagues

• Create student targets

• Attend personal target setting meetings

Requirement: 

- have a degree in a language focused degree and an ESL or TESOL (Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages) certification. 

- basic software skills, preferably Google Suites, to complete administrative tasks, such as updating student records. 

-To be successful in this role, it’s important to have a patient and resilient personality, flexibility, and great communication skills.

- Good command of spoken and written Russian language is a plus

- Flexibility: the teacher may be required to work on weekends and evenings to accommodate learners’ needs, timetables may be reviewed on an ongoing basis.

As a teacher in PBISS, you’ll create individualized educational plans based on each student’s needs and evaluate their progress through homework and assessments. ESL teachers are also expected to build positive relationships with parents and teachers, helping them evaluate student progress.
