We are seeking a highly organized and proactive Cover Coordinator to oversee and manage staff cover arrangements across all phases of the school—EYFS, Primary, and Secondary. This essential role ensures minimal disruption to learning and a smooth continuation of teaching in the event of staff absences.
Key Responsibilities:
Daily Cover Coordination:
Organize and coordinate all cover needs for the entire school (EYFS to Secondary).
Ensure fair and equitable distribution of cover duties across available teaching staff.
Communication & Admin:
Receive, review, and respond to absence notifications and emails from staff.
Communicate clearly with relevant teachers about their assigned cover responsibilities.
Scheduling & Assignment:
Check schedules of absent staff and create a cover schedule accordingly.
Match cover teachers with classes that align as closely as possible with their skill sets and subject knowledge.
Lesson Coverage:
Personally cover between 4–5 lessons per day, stepping in to ensure continuity of learning when needed.
Google Classroom Management:
Check that absent staff have uploaded lesson plans and materials to the relevant Google Cover Classrooms.
Ensure cover teachers have the resources they need for effective delivery.
Skills & Attributes:
Excellent organizational and time-management skills
Clear and professional communicator
Strong problem-solving skills and a flexible mindset
Familiarity with Google Workspace (especially Google Classroom) is desirable
Experience & Qualifications:
Has a good honors degree (2:1 or above)
Teaching qualification is desirable
Prior experience in a school setting
Understanding of curriculum requirements across multiple key stages
Experience in managing or coordinating cover is an advantage
