The Lycée Français Sophie Germain and the Lycée Français Guy de Maupassant, two well-established French-accredited international schools, are seeking an experienced English Teacher to join their Middle and High School teams for the 2026–2027 academic year.

Our schools prepare students for the International French Baccalaureate (Baccalauréat Français International – BFI), where English Language and Literature play a central role. Students are required to sit an advanced-level examination equivalent to A-level English and Literature, demanding high academic standards, strong subject expertise and inspiring teaching.


🎯 The Role

As an English Teacher in Middle and High School, you will:

  • Teach English Language and English Literature within the framework of the International British Section of the French National Curriculum

  • Prepare students for high-stakes external examinations, including the International French Baccalaureate and A-level equivalent assessments

  • Design engaging, rigorous and well-structured lessons that develop students’ linguistic accuracy, critical thinking and literary analysis skills

  • Foster a positive, respectful and stimulating classroom environment

  • Support students’ academic progress, confidence and personal development

  • Assess, track and report on student progress in line with curriculum expectations

  • Contribute actively to departmental collaboration and wider school life

🎓 Qualifications & Experience

  • Master’s degree in English, English Literature or English Teaching

  • Proven teaching experience in Middle and/or High School

  • Experience in a French system, British Section or international school is highly valued

  • Experience preparing students for external or advanced-level examinations is an asset
