Welcome to The English School of Asturias

Learning Today, Leading Tomorrow

The English School of Asturias, founded in 1997 and part of the Dukes Education group, is the only British international school in the region—offering a truly global education set between the mountains and the sea in northern Spain. We are a warm, vibrant, and forward-thinking all-through school for children aged 2 to 18, with approximately 760 students representing over 15 nationalities.

We follow the English National Curriculum, delivering a high-quality, bilingual education that combines the academic rigour of IGCSEs and A-Levels with strong support for Spanish language and culture. As pupils move into Bachillerato, they may also opt into additional preparation for entry into Spanish universities via the PCE exams. From Early Years through to Sixth Form, we aim to nurture confident, curious, and compassionate young people who are ready to thrive in an ever-changing world.

Our dynamic team of native and international teachers is deeply committed to supporting each student’s academic, social, and emotional growth. Leadership, creativity, and responsibility are embedded throughout the school day—from student voice and the School Council to our emphasis on pastoral care, outdoor learning, and community engagement.

Our beautiful campus offers excellent facilities, including a media centre, sports hall, specialist science labs, and dedicated learning environments for each Key Stage. The lush green surroundings allow for plenty of outdoor activity and exploration—from vegetable gardens in Early Years to large-scale sports and arts events.

As a proud member of the Dukes Education family, we benefit from international collaboration, outstanding training, and innovative teaching practice.

We welcome applications from enthusiastic, committed professionals who are passionate about education and keen to join a collaborative team that places students at the heart of everything we do.
