Rise International School (RISE) is a new international school in Thailand, offering affordable high-quality education. We provide UK Cambridge and Singapore Math & Science curriculum through a guided learning journey for each student. We are opening in August 2027, with grade levels N - Y2 to expand into K-12 later on. We combine global curricular and pedagogical practices to enable children to 'rise to their full potential'. Role Overview

The Early Years Headteacher is a founding academic role responsible for building and leading the Early Years program.

For this upcoming Academic Year 2026-2027, you would be focusing on:

  • Designing and setting up Early Years academic and classroom systems

  • Translating the school’s philosophy into daily EY practice

  • Teaching and modeling high-quality Early Years instruction

  • Supporting teacher preparation and consistency across EY classrooms

  • Presentation with parents and conducting playgroups and weekend family programs

In the following Academic Year 2027-2028, you would be serving as a homeroom teacher during the school year (N or K1 or K2 homeroom) and leading the EY department.

This role is ideal for an experienced Early Years teacher who enjoys both teaching young children and building strong systems.

Key Responsibilities
Early Years Program & System Design
  • Design and implement the Early Years academic framework aligned with UK-based EY approaches and the school’s philosophy

  • Develop EY curriculum structures, including:

    • Unit themes and learning progressions

    • Scheme of Work and sample lesson plans

    • Daily routines and classroom systems

    • Play-based and inquiry-based learning experiences

    • Observation and assessment tools

    • Documentation and reporting templates

  • Ensure alignment between curriculum, assessment, classroom practice, and child development principles

Classroom Teaching & Practice
  • Lead playgroups and summer camp in academic year 2026-27

  • Serve as a N or K1 or K2 homeroom teacher during the academic year 2027-28

  • Model best practices in: Play-based learning, Language-rich interactions, Executive function and self-regulation support, Positive behavior guidance

  • Create a classroom environment that promotes: Psychological safety, Confidence and independence, Curiosity and joy in learning

Teacher Support & Collaboration
  • Support the onboarding and guidance of EY teachers and teaching assistants

  • Set clear expectations for EY classroom routines, planning, and documentation

  • Provide instructional guidance and informal coaching to ensure consistency across EY classes

  • Foster a reflective, child-centered professional culture within the EY team

Student Wellbeing & Safeguarding
  • Support the implementation of student wellbeing and safeguarding practices in EY

  • Maintain accurate student observation and welfare records

  • Ensure daily routines support children’s emotional safety and development

Parent Engagement
  • Communicate effectively with parents about:

    • Child development

    • Learning approaches

    • Classroom routines and expectations

  • Support parent orientations, workshops, and activities related to Early Years learning

Requirements

Skills and Qualifications

  • Native English speaker

  • Bachelor Degree (minimum requirement) in Education or related field

  • Minimum 3 years of experience as an Early Years homeroom teacher

  • Strong knowledge of the UK Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) framework

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

  • Ability to develop curriculum plans that meet both academic goals and developmental needs

  • Skilled at mentoring and supporting teaching staff to improve practice

  • Competent in using technology for administration and teaching purposes
