Angel Meadow School is an independent special school for 11–16-year-olds with Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs). Our pupils have a wide range of needs including ADHD, moderate learning difficulties, dyslexia and autism, with many also requiring SEMH support. We are committed to being a small, ambitious and nurturing community where every pupil is supported to achieve their potential.

We are seeking an enthusiastic History Teacher who can also teach a second subject to join Angel Meadow School from September 2026. The second subject will be discussed with the successful candidate based on their strengths and curriculum needs. You will deliver engaging, accessible and high-quality History and additional subject teaching to small groups of pupils with SEND and SEMH needs, helping them to build knowledge, confidence and meaningful qualifications.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver engaging and inclusive History lessons across KS3 and KS4
• Plan and teach an additional subject in line with curriculum needs
• Adapt teaching to meet a wide range of learning needs, including dyslexia, ADHD and autism
• Use structured, visual and multi-sensory approaches to support understanding and engagement
• Track, assess and report on pupil progress in both academic and personal development
• Work closely with teaching assistants and support staff to deliver personalised learning
• Contribute to EHCP targets and review processes where required
• Maintain high standards of behaviour, safeguarding and wellbeing
• Attend CPD, training and staff meetings
• Contribute to whole-school activities, trips and enrichment

What We Offer

• The opportunity to shape Humanities provision in a growing specialist school
• Maximum class size of 5 pupils
• A supportive, close-knit team with a strong focus on wellbeing and collaboration
• Tailored CPD in SEND, SEMH and small-group teaching
• Reduced marking and administration, with a focus on meaningful progress over paperwork
• Opportunities for career development and leadership as the school expands
