Job overview

Lead a whole system wellbeing and safeguarding culture in a dynamic K–12 international environment.

Vinschool is seeking an experienced Pastoral Care Director to lead and develop a comprehensive pastoral and wellbeing framework across our school system.

This role is central to ensuring that student wellbeing, safeguarding, and character development are embedded into the fabric of school life — not treated as parallel structures, but as core pillars of the educational experience.

The Role

The Pastoral Care Director will design and oversee Vinschool’s whole-system pastoral strategy, ensuring alignment across safeguarding policies, wellbeing frameworks, behaviour systems, and student support services.

You will work closely with school leaders, counsellors, safeguarding officers, and teaching teams to cultivate a safe, inclusive, and developmentally responsive learning environment across all campuses.

Key Responsibilities

·       Lead the development and implementation of whole-system pastoral and safeguarding policies.

·       Ensure alignment with international safeguarding standards and best practices.

·       Oversee wellbeing systems, student support structures, and behaviour frameworks.

·       Provide strategic guidance and professional development to pastoral leaders, Heads of Year, and safeguarding teams.

·       Collaborate with academic and senior leadership teams to integrate wellbeing into curriculum, culture, and daily practice.

·       Advise on and manage complex student cases with discretion, professionalism, and sound judgement.

We Are Seeking a Leader Who

·       Brings significant experience in pastoral leadership within international K–12 schools.

·       Demonstrates deep expertise in safeguarding, child protection, and student wellbeing systems.

·       Has successfully led whole-school or multi-campus pastoral or student services departments.

·       Understands inclusive education and culturally diverse school communities.

·       Communicates with confidence and clarity across cultures and leadership levels.

·       Brings calm authority, sound judgement, and systems thinking to student care.

Qualifications & Experience

·       A relevant degree in Education, Psychology, Counselling, or a related field.

·       Extensive leadership experience in international K–12 settings.

·       Strong working knowledge of international safeguarding standards.

·       Experience in culturally diverse and complex school environments.

What We Offer

·       A senior leadership role within one of Vietnam’s largest and most forward-thinking education systems.

·       The opportunity to shape and embed a whole-system pastoral framework.

·       A professional, mission-driven, and internationally minded school environment.

·       A competitive international compensation package.

If you are committed to building school cultures where students feel safe, supported, and known, we would welcome a confidential conversation.
