Job Description
We are seeking a dynamic and passionate Arabic B Teacher to join our team in August 2026.
The successful candidate will have experience teaching Arabic as a second language to non-native speakers within the British Curriculum framework. They will be skilled in creating engaging, student-centered lessons that develop language proficiency in listening, speaking, reading, and writing, while fostering a positive and inclusive learning environment.
The Arabic B Teacher (teaching Arabic as a second or foreign language) will be responsible for the following:
Key Responsibilities
1. Instructional Responsibilities
Plan and deliver engaging Arabic language lessons tailored to students’ proficiency levels.
Teach reading, writing, listening, and speaking skills.
Use a variety of teaching methods and materials to enhance student learning.
Incorporate cultural aspects of the Arab world to enrich language instruction.
2. Assessment and Evaluation
Design and administer formative and summative assessments.
Monitor student progress and provide timely feedback.
Maintain accurate records of student performance and report results as required.
3. Curriculum and Lesson Planning
Develop lesson plans aligned with curriculum standards (e.g., IB, Cambridge, national curriculum).
Adapt teaching materials for different learning needs and language levels.
Integrate technology and multimedia resources where appropriate.
4. Classroom Management
Create a positive and inclusive classroom environment.
Encourage active participation and language use.
Manage behaviour in a respectful and consistent manner.
5. Professional Development
Participate in training and workshops to stay updated on best practices in language teaching.
Collaborate with other teachers for interdisciplinary planning and school events.
6. Communication
Communicate regularly with students, parents, and colleagues.
Provide support and guidance to students to help them succeed.
Skills and Competencies
Curriculum Knowledge: Deep understanding of the Arabic B language framework within the British Curriculum, including Key Stages and expectations for non-native speakers.
Language Instruction: Ability to teach Arabic as an additional language with a focus on listening, speaking, reading, and writing skills using age-appropriate strategies.
Differentiation: Skilled in tailoring lessons to meet varied learning needs, language levels, and cultural backgrounds.
Assessment and Reporting: Proficient in formative and summative assessment methods aligned with British standards, with the ability to track progress and provide constructive feedback.
Lesson Planning: Strong planning skills with the ability to design engaging, interactive, and student-centered lessons aligned with learning objectives.
Technology Integration: Comfortable using digital tools and platforms to enhance Arabic language learning and student engagement.
Classroom Management: Effective classroom management that promotes a respectful, inclusive environment where students feel confident using Arabic.
Cross-Curricular Links: Ability to connect Arabic learning with other subjects and themes where appropriate.
Professionalism: A collaborative team player with strong communication skills, commitment to professional development, and adherence to school policies and values.
