Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Arabic A Teacher to join our team in August 2026.
The successful candidate will teach Arabic as a first language to native speakers, delivering high-quality instruction that develops advanced skills in reading, writing, grammar, literature, speaking, and critical analysis of Arabic texts. The teacher will support students in achieving academic excellence while fostering a deep appreciation of Arabic language, culture, and heritage within a multicultural British curriculum environment.
Key Responsibilities
1. Instruction and Teaching
Teach Arabic as a first language (Arabic A) in accordance with the school’s curriculum and UAE Ministry of Education requirements.
Deliver engaging lessons that develop students’ proficiency in reading, writing, speaking, listening, grammar, and Arabic literature.
Encourage critical thinking, language fluency, and appreciation of Arabic literary texts.
Create a classroom environment that supports active participation and high academic standards.
2. Curriculum Planning
Plan lessons aligned with school curriculum objectives and UAE educational standards.
Prepare schemes of work, unit plans, and instructional materials that support students’ academic development.
Ensure teaching resources are appropriate for native Arabic speakers.
3. Assessment and Reporting
Design and administer formative and summative assessments to evaluate student progress.
Maintain accurate records of student performance.
Prepare reports for parents, school leadership, and relevant educational authorities.
4. Student Support
Differentiate instruction to meet the needs of all learners, including high-achieving students and those requiring additional academic support.
Provide continuous feedback to help students strengthen their Arabic language and literacy skills.
5. Parental Engagement
Communicate regularly with parents regarding student progress and achievements.
Participate in parent-teacher meetings and school events.
6. Professional Development
Stay updated with best practices in Arabic language teaching and literacy development.
Participate actively in school professional development programs.
7. School Community Participation
Contribute to school activities, cultural events, and Arabic language initiatives such as Arabic Language Day.
Collaborate with colleagues across departments to promote cross-curricular learning opportunities.
8. Compliance and Policies
Follow all school policies, safeguarding procedures, and health & safety guidelines.
Ensure Arabic instruction meets local education authority requirements and standards.
Skills and Competencies
Language Proficiency
Native Arabic speaker with strong proficiency in Modern Standard Arabic.
Strong command of Arabic grammar, literature, vocabulary, and academic writing conventions.
Curriculum Knowledge
Familiarity with Arabic A curricula aligned with British or international school systems and UAE Ministry requirements.
Understanding of Arabic literacy development and progression across grade levels.
Instructional Skills
Ability to design engaging and challenging lessons for native Arabic speakers.
Skilled in differentiated instruction to support diverse learning needs.
Assessment and Feedback
Strong ability to design effective assessment tools and monitor student progress.
Ability to provide clear and constructive academic feedback.
Classroom Management
Effective classroom management that promotes a positive and respectful learning environment.
Ability to motivate students and encourage active participation.
Technology Integration
Confident in using digital tools and educational technologies to support teaching and learning.
Communication and Collaboration
Strong communication skills for engaging with students, parents, and colleagues.
