Job Description
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced English/Humanities Teacher to join our secondary team in August 2026.
The successful candidate will deliver engaging lessons in English and Humanities, creating a stimulating and inclusive classroom environment where every student can thrive academically and personally.
The role requires strong planning, assessment, and teaching skills, with the ability to stretch students to achieve their potential and foster a love of learning and cultural awareness.
Key Responsibilities
Deliver high-quality lessons in English and Humanities to secondary students.
Plan engaging, student-centered lessons that develop literacy, critical thinking, and cultural understanding.
Assess student progress regularly and provide constructive feedback.
Foster an inclusive and positive classroom environment where students are motivated to learn and participate.
Integrate digital resources and learning technologies to enhance teaching and engagement.
Support students individually where needed, including literacy support and study skills.
Contribute to the wider school community through events, cultural activities, and cross-curricular projects.
Collaborate with colleagues to share best practices and maintain high standards across the department.
Skills and Competencies
Strong subject knowledge in English and Humanities.
Experience teaching secondary students.
Familiarity with the British curriculum standards.
Skilled in planning, assessment, and differentiated instruction for a range of abilities.
Ability to create engaging lessons that develop literacy, critical thinking, and cultural awareness.
Confident in using digital tools and online learning platforms.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills with students, colleagues, and parents.
Professional, enthusiastic, and committed to continuous professional development.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in English, Humanities, or a related field.
Recognized teaching qualification (PGCE, B.Ed, or equivalent) with QTS or international equivalence.
Minimum of 2 years teaching experience in a British curriculum school.
