G E N E R A L  D E S C R I P T I O N

RIS seeks a student-centered and engaging High School IB DP Psychology Teacher who will lead, inspire, and promote deep learning across a range of courses, including IB Psychology HL and SL as well as a General Psychology elective. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong knowledge of adolescent development, cooperative learning strategies, visible thinking routines, and inquiry-based instruction. The teacher should be skilled in planning and implementing differentiation across a range of student abilities and comfortable using standards-referenced assessment practices.

Beyond academics, the teacher will integrate social-emotional learning and positive behavior supports to cultivate a classroom environment that promotes belonging and respect for diverse perspectives. The teacher will also use the curriculum mapping tool Atlas Rubicon to plan and deliver lessons that align with school expectations and support learning experiences that meet the needs of every student while advancing the RIS vision for academic excellence and personal growth. Familiarity with Universal Design for Learning is preferred but not required.

  • Actively engage in professional development and continuous learning, modeling openness to feedback and a willingness to try new approaches.

  • Promote a love of Psychology by cultivating curiosity, positive behavior, and engagement in a multicultural learning environment that values global perspectives.

    

Q u a l i f i c a t i o n s &  r e q u i r e m e n t s

•Current Secondary license or certification for teaching Psychology with a master’s degree in a related field preferred

•IBDP experience in Psychology preferred

•Minimum of two years (4 or more years preferred) experience as a High School Psychology teacher in an accredited K-12 school
