Introduction from our Head, Mrs Clare Strickland.

Old Vicarage School is a thriving independent day school for 200 girls aged between 3 and 11 years. The school is situated in a quiet, residential area of Richmond and occupies a beautiful Grade 2* listed ‘castle’ on Richmond Hill. Whilst retaining traditional values, there is a clear vision for the future; teaching and facilities combine the very best of the old and new.  The girls thrive in a safe, secure and stimulating environment supported by outstanding teaching from experienced and dedicated staff.  Classes with a maximum of 16 girls, enable teachers to understand the individual learning profiles of each girl, ensuring that their potential is recognised and nurtured.  The broad curriculum is stimulating, engaging and diverse. The girls have the opportunity to shine through music, art, drama, sport and through the excellent extra-curricular programme. The girls are encouraged to question, explore and have the confidence to try all of the new experiences and opportunities available.  The girls leave the school equipped with the skills to face the challenges of the modern world. They are creative, confident, ambitious and have the self-belief that there are no limits to what they can achieve. The girls at the Old Vicarage develop friendships which last a lifetime and treasure their memories of their time at the school.  Established in 1931, the School became a Charitable Trust in 1973 and is administered by a Board of Governors. The parents’ association, ‘The Friends’, is very supportive of the school and organises regular fund-raising activities.

We look forward to meeting with you soon.
