About Coopersale Hall School
Coopersale Hall is a privately-owned independent preparatory school in Epping, South-West Essex, for around 300 boys and girls aged 2 to 16.
We offer a high standard of education and a fulfilling learning experience in a happy, secure and caring environment. With an emphasis on courtesy, manners and respect, we allow pupils to fulfil their potential by working together for the benefit of each other. We nurture, praise and encourage.
Coopersale Hall’s extensive buildings and grounds are steeped in history. The main Grade 2 listed building is a stunning mansion house set in some seven acres of beautiful grounds, lawns and playing areas.
In 1988 Coopersale Hall was acquired by the Hagger family and the School was opened in April 1989. A rapid modernisation and expansion programme followed. A converted Orangery-ballroom has become the School’s Assembly Hall and the cottage in the grounds houses some of our infant and junior classes. From the York stone terrace at the back of the Hall, a path leads to the adventure playground, Astroturf pitch, infants’ play area and landscaped gardens.
A phased introduction of senior school pupils began in September 2023 with an exciting new senior building currently in development.
Coopersale Hall School forms part of the Oak-Tree Group of Schools, which includes, Oaklands School in Loughton and Normanhurst School in North Chingford. A group of local independent schools, all four are operated with the same aims of excellence and care.
Values and Vision
Academically, we encourage our children to aim high and to have the confidence to learn new skills and interests. The broad range of activities both inside and outside the classroom provides a rich environment where all children can discover hidden aptitudes and talents.
We emphasise the acquisition of social skills and encourage respect and consideration for others at all times. This helps children to understand the needs of others. Good manners, respect for others and self discipline are fundamental aspects of the core values we teach.
We aim to provide a broad curriculum with a variety of activities that offer stimulating opportunities in which pupils can develop lively, enquiring minds as well as individual talents
