Victoria International School of Sharjah (VISS) will enter its 19th year of operation in August 2026. The original VISS campus opened in September 2007 in Al Taawun with fewer than 200 students. Over the past 18 years, VISS has grown into a successful group of schools, with 2 IB World Schools and 3 Regional Schools offering the Australian (Victorian) Curriculum from KG to Grade 12, alongside the IB Diploma Programme. VISS now educates over 5,000 students across five campuses.
Our schools are led by an experienced international academic leadership team with extensive UAE experience, supported by the VISS Schools Group, delivering high-quality Australian and international education to a diverse global community.
We are seeking an experienced and dedicated School Counsellor to join our team. The successful candidate will support the social, emotional, and psychological wellbeing of students, ensuring they are able to fully access and engage in learning.
Key Responsibilities
Deliver high-quality teaching and learning aligned with the curriculum
Foster a safe, inclusive, and supportive learning environment, with a focus on student wellbeing and safeguarding
Monitor and assess student progress and provide constructive feedback
Build positive partnerships with parents and colleagues
Contribute to school initiatives and continuous improvement
Qualifications & Experience
Master’s degree in Counselling, Psychology, or a related field
Arabic and English speaking
Experience working within a school counselling setting
Strong understanding of safeguarding and student wellbeing
Experience in the Middle East is preferred

The school’s curriculum is based on three frameworks from Australia as well as the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme. In the Early Learning Centre the framework used is called the Victorian Developmental Framework, from Grade 1 to 10 the framework followed is the Victorian Essential Leaning Standards. In the final two years it will be International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme.
