Job overview

Placed in the top 1% of all Maths departments nationally, our Maths department is due to expand its courses next year. We are looking to recruit a 2ic with a responsibility for a key stage to further develop our already outstanding provision across key stage 3,4 and 5.

You would be joining us at an incredibly exciting time in the School’s history. Rated “outstanding” by Ofsted in 2015 and celebrating its 150th anniversary this year, Central Foundation is the top performing non-selective all boys school in the country based on 2016 GCSE outcomes. In 2016, 84% of our Year 11 students achieved 5 A*-C grades including English and Maths while our Progress 8 was 0.65. In Maths, 91% of the GCSE students achieved A*-C while 38% of Year 11 students achieved A/A*. The subject is also very popular among our 6th form students and we are looking to expand our current Maths provision at KS5.

Our Maths department is highly successful and consistently delivers outstanding GCSE and A level results. The department is well resourced with effective systems in place that reduce teachers’ workload relating to planning and assessment to a minimum.

The behaviour of students is outstanding and the disciplined environment allows the teachers to focus on delivering great academic outcomes.

We are very ambitious in our aim to provide the best possible opportunities for our students. We set high standards for all professionals working at the school but we also provide a very strong net of support for both new and existing colleagues.

This school is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children. The successful candidate will be subject to an enhanced criminal record check.
