Job overview

The Quest Academy, opened in September 2010 and has made rapid improvements. This summer we celebrated record achievements including our best A-Level results ever, 100% pass rate and 32% A*-A.

We seek to appoint a dynamic and well qualified Teacher of Science to join our high achieving school from September 2017. Applications are considered from both experienced and newly qualified teachers.

We require an experienced teacher who can teach general science to KS4 and one of Biology, Chemistry or Physics to KS5.

Evidence is required of successful performance and impact on student outcomes.

Quest is an Academy on a journey to excellence. At the Academy, through the sponsorship of The Coloma Trust, we are quite clear that the purpose of our journey is to provide a high quality, all-round education for our pupils, present and future, in a calm yet exciting learning environment.

Situated in an iconic ‘state of the art’ purpose built £16m building, we have received an SSAT Educational Outcomes Award for being in the top 20% of schools nationally, in addition to winning two Good Schools Guide Awards. In 2016 under the new “Progress 8 (P8) Score” system, GSCE success was measured at +0.16 with 58% A*-C grades; pupils achieved over a tenth of a grade more progress per subject than the national average. Our Sixth Form (Quest6) is popular and very successful; we are in the top 12% of A-level providers in England for ‘Value Added’.

The Quest Academy opened in 2010 and is part of The Collegiate Trust.

We opened our sixth form, Quest6 in 2012 and moved into stunning new buildings in 2014, providing the very best facilities for our staff and students.

We are a very successful Academy. We have doubled in size since we opened, are regularly oversubscribed and achieve excellent results in all key stages.

The professional development of our staff is paramount to us. A significant proportion of our leaders, including SLT, have been with us since the beginning of their careers and have benefitted from the career progression available.

All staff are allocated an extra 1 hour of non-contact time each week which is designated exclusively to develop teaching pedagogy. All staff participate in the Professional Development Programme which is specific to the needs of individual teachers.

We have created a purposeful campus where we work hard and work together to achieve excellence inside and outside of the classroom, valuing academic achievement and personal growth.

We look forward to receiving applications from those who want to join our journey.
