Kingsford Community School is seeking to employ 3 Deputy Head teachers starting September 2019 following a staffing restructure. We are looking to appoint dynamic and ambitious senior leaders who have the potential to become Head teachers. This is an exciting prospect for self-motivated individuals to develop key strategic areas of the school, lead large teams and enable excellent pupil outcome. The posts call for outstanding teachers from any subject who can prove that they have had a strong impact on the achievement of enabling students from a variety of backgrounds to make sustained progress. The school is open to applications from those who are current senior leaders and from highly qualified teachers who have significant middle leadership experience, ideally as a Head of Department.
The initial roles of the new Deputy Head teachers will be determined by their current strengths, potential and interests. Foci for the roles include leadership of one or more of the following areas: Teaching Learning and Assessment, Pupil Inclusion Wellbeing and Safeguarding, Pupil Progress and Outcomes, Curriculum and Timetabling. The roles will require individuals who have excellent communication skills and are able to engage with a variety of audiences and personnel across year groups subjects and the community.
The People Sought
Personal ambition, a strong work ethic, effectiveness and a desire for furthering the life chances of young people are key attributes required from the new Deputy Head teachers who are to be appointed. Previous leadership experience, as well as talent, intelligence and application are important. The Deputy Head Teachers will be gifted teachers, with excellent interpersonal skills and the capacity for curriculum, pastoral and whole school strategic and operational leadership.

The final role will be negotiated based on the skill set of the applicant and agreement of the Head teacher.
Previous experience of a role in an educational setting is essential. The successful candidate will have to meet the person specification in order to be shortlisted for the post and will be subject to an Enhanced DBS check.
