Approx. NJC scale 5/6, depending on previous experience. This is a full-time role, term-time only plus 3 weeks (42 weeks a year). Working hours to be negotiated with the successful candidate.

We seek to appoint a 6th Form Manager for our College based in Twickenham to manage all aspects of administration relating to the Sixth Form student journey at St Richard Reynolds Catholic College.

The 6th Form Manager will be part of a committed and enthusiastic team of support staff, providing exceptional support for learning and teaching at our College in order to provide a world class education for our students.

Our new 6th Form will be opening in September 2018. This is a new role and we are recruiting early so that the administrator can be involved in planning and setting up for the 6th Form. This role will initially be combined with another administrative role. This role will report in to our new Head of 6th Form.

The position will include administration and support in the following areas:

  • Be the first point of contact for 6th form students and their parents with general enquiries and administration matters.
  • Assist with the supervision of students out of lesson times, including before and after school and at lunchtimes.
  • Supervision of study periods.
  • Provide administrative support to the Head of 6th Form and the Sixth Form Heads of Year e.g. coordinating diaries, photocopying, and supporting with all administration matters as necessary.
  • Working with the Admissions Officer to ensure the effective and timely processing of admissions to 6th Form.
  • Establish constructive relationships and communicate with other agencies/professionals, in liaison with the Head of 6th Form, to support achievement and progress of students.
  • Monitor absence through SIMS and following up absence concerns with students, parents and appropriate agencies. Be responsible for producing weekly attendance statistics.
  • Oversee the administrative aspects of the UCAS application process including the provision of updates of data concerned with UCAS and ensuring Sixth Form students meet appropriate UCAS deadlines for university applications.
  • Collating of assessment data for teaching staff and administer system and ensure smooth running of report procedures.
  • Coordinating the provision of student cover work in the instance of teacher absence.
  • Manage the arrangements of Sixth Form events e.g. assemblies, open evenings, taster days, leavers mass, work experience etc.
  • Undertake other activities that are within the grading level and scope of this post, including providing administrative support outside of the 6th Form, particularly in the first year of the role.

Ideally, candidates will have experience of working in a school or with young people in a similar role.
