The Exciting Role 

Nelson and Colne College are looking for a highly motivated and dedicated A Level English Teacher to join our Languages team on a part-time, permanent basis working 28 hours per week. 

What You Will Be Doing

• Teach on the A-Level English programme, delivering effective learning for students

• Be up to date, plan and prepare and high-quality teaching as required by your Line Manager to the appropriate number of hours (648 hrs/annum)

• Develop and share resources for the subject including maintaining effective links across College for resources

• Regularly assess students in order to track and monitor progress

What We Are Looking For:

• GCSE grade C or equivalent qualification in English and Maths

• Degree in a relevant subject area or appropriate professional qualification

• Recognised teaching qualification (or a willingness to achieve one within the first 3 years of appointment)

• Successful teaching experience in the relevant subject area (A-Level English)

• Knowledge of, and proven ability, to deliver the curriculum successfully and recent experience of successfully delivering A-Level English

About Nelson and Colne College

Nelson and Colne College, located in the town of Nelson, Lancashire, offers further education to 1,600 full-time students and 3,500 part-time adults. The college was founded during the reorganisation of education in Pendle in the early 1970s and created by the merger of several local sixth forms. 

Recent investments have included a £2m engineering facility, an all-weather sports pitch and gym, fully equipped science laboratories, and student study and social spaces. In January 2017, Nelson and Colne College launched a university centre to offer a range of higher education programmes in East Lancashire and beyond.
