Job overview

A Level Lecturer – Art
11.1 hours per week
1 year fixed term
£20,642 - £30,706 per annum pro-rata

The A Level Centre at Hartpury College was opened in September 2007, initially offering sports students the opportunity to study their A Levels alongside training and competing in one of our elite sports academies. Year on year our numbers have steadily grown and we now have over 200 students, studying over 15 subjects, taught by 23 members of staff. Our expanding student numbers are a reflection of the fact that we are now seen as a real alternative to the Sixth Form College provision in the local region.

In February 2015 we moved to our new base – a new, purpose built 2 story block with integrated teaching and LRC facilities which overlooks our vast rural campus. A Level teachers are encouraged to use the wide range of facilities available on campus. Many of these resources are used by our Higher Education colleagues, so we really can offer a true Secondary/University transition experience.

This is an exciting time to join us as we look to develop the A Level provision at Hartpury College. We are looking to appoint an individual who has flair, ideas, passion and commitment to our students’ education. You will possess a teaching qualification and be student focused with a proven track record of achievement. The College offers a comprehensive continuous professional development programme, as well as a wide range of additional benefits.

We are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expect all staff and volunteers to share this commitment.  We will ensure that all our recruitment and selection practices reflect this commitment.  All successful candidates will be subject to Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) checks along with other relevant employment checks.

Visit our website www.hartpury.ac.uk to see full details and to apply online or telephone (01452) 702135 to request documents by post.

The closing date for receipt of applications is Wednesday 27th July 2016 with interviews taking place on Thursday 4th August 2016.
