A-Level Progress Tutor (36 hrs per week, Term Time Only (38 weeks per year) Various Opportunities (Fixed term and Permanent)

Are you a Progress Tutor who is skilled and a highly motivated individual who is looking to join our established team with a specific focus on supporting A-Level Students. You will support the academic progress of A Level students and specifically raise aspirations inspiring students to reach their full potential in accessing opportunities for Higher Education. This includes supporting specific groups of learners in applying for Russel Group Universities. You will have the passion to inspire every student to reach their full potential regardless of their starting point. If so, we’d love to hear from you.

Here’s the standard bit: To support the academic progress of A Level learners and specifically raise the aspirations of all learners to reach their full potential in accessing opportunities for Higher Education. This includes supporting specific groups of learners in applying for Russel Group Universities.

To deliver weekly tutorials to the support career journey and deliver a range of pastoral topics in line with our commitment to safeguarding, wellbeing and personal development. To support learners in attaining high levels of attendance and punctuality and to work with learners on a 1-1 basis to develop and encourage successful outcomes. To monitor learner engagement and where appropriate work with learners and parents to ensure that College standards are maintained.

What you’ll need: Enthusiasm, resilience and motivation, with a relevant degree or equivalent coupled with a level 2 qualification in Literacy and Numeracy knowledge. A broad range of curriculum knowledge/qualification structure e.g. BTEC, City & Guilds, NVQ, Apprenticeships. Specific knowledge of A Level and HE structures. Experience of the UCAS process and progression opportunities including f the issues facing young people with barriers to their learning (including social, emotional, behavioural). Your also need to be experienced in target setting and monitoring with learners. Please see the person spec and JD for further information.
