SALARY:  Full Time Equivalent £33,199 to £39,609 (Academic Professional Grade 7 (SCP 30-36)

LOCATION: Across WeST TLI delivery venues – specific locations to be negotiated

This is an exciting opportunity to join the newly created Westcountry Schools Trust, currently employing approximately 2000 staff and growing. We are a dynamic organisation with our students and staff at our heart. Built on an extensive track record of excellence, the Trust combines a range of secondary colleges, primary schools and the WeST Learning Institute based in a variety of sites across Devon and Cornwall. We are also a stone’s throw from some of the best beaches and countryside in the country.

The main purpose of these roles is the delivery of undergraduate modules in specific fields such as those detailed below. As such a successful applicant would deliver a defined range of teaching activities and undertake pedagogic research to support teaching and learning development. There will be a blended approach to delivery with a mixture of face-to-face learning and online synchronous learning. The role may combine elements of teaching, scholarship, engagement working and administration. The ideal candidate may have achieved, or be working towards, membership of the Higher Education Academy or equivalent. 

We are seeking applicants for multiple part time, fixed-term posts with different specialisms for a period of 12 months:

• early years education

• inclusive education

• psychological theory including child development

• expertise in teaching level 6, including dissertation supervision.

Minimum employment is based on one 15 credit undergraduate module, which is approximate to o.o7FTE (125 working hours), with the possibility of further modules being added to the contract.

The Westcountry Schools Trust is a tight knit family of schools based around natural geographical proximity in the South West. Formed in 2017, the WeST family currently consists of 26 schools, of which 7 are secondary and 19 primary.

WeST is an outward looking, multifaceted trust that operates in partnership with the RSC Office, Teaching School Council, numerous schools, Higher Education Institutions and employers across the South West and beyond. Indeed, we are proud that within WeST there is a cohort 1 Teaching School that has been effectively supporting children beyond our own boundaries for nearly a decade.
