Trad but quirky, The London Oratory School seeks to appoint a fixed term maternity cover for the position of Academic Registrar and Examinations Officer with immediate start.

Salary - £35,000-£37,000 p/a

Standard hours - 37.5 hours a week

The Academic Registrar will need to hit the ground running. The ideal candidate should be cool-headed, data driven, and be able to manage their time effectively. The ability to deal with numerous important tasks at once and manage priorities is key, and the Academic Registrar should be able to work and keep calm under pressure.

Candidates should be comfortable manipulating data. They should have a good working knowledge of ICT and be familiar with MS Office, especially Excel. The School’s MIS (Management Information System for data) is currently Progresso. Candidates will need to be able to use or willing to learn how to use this system.

Candidates will manage the examinations process for all internal and public exams. This will involve liaising with external bodies, submitting data and organising timetables. The nature of the work demands that discretion and confidentiality are of utmost importance at all times.

The school is a Roman Catholic non-fee paying academy located in Fulham, London. There are 1330 pupils, 80 boys aged 7 to 10 in the Junior House receiving a specialist music education, 900 boys aged 11 to 16 in the first to fifth forms and 350 in the sixth form, including 80 girls. We encourage all staff to get involved in our vibrant school life. About The London Oratory School

Trad but quirky, The London Oratory School is a mainstream, Roman Catholic, all-through school with sixth form, situated in Fulham, south-west London. Founded in 1863 by the Fathers of the Oratory, we cater for boys aged seven to eighteen and have approximately 1,330 pupils enrolled.  Girls are admitted to the Sixth form. 

We encourage all staff to get involved in our vibrant school life. The school is committed to developing staff and growing their skillset through CPD.  We have first class facilities which all staff are encouraged to use (including free lunch, Friday cake, on-site parking, a state of the art gym and swimming pool).

The school moved to its present site in 1970. In September 1989, the voluntary-aided school became grant-maintained. A Junior House was added next to the Arts Centre in September 1996.

As a Catholic school, The London Oratory School upholds Canon Law and the teachings of the Catholic Church. The curriculum is broad and varied and seeks to promote the spiritual, moral, cultural, mental and physical development of pupils. Pupils are well versed in the core subjects, which include history, science, English and maths, but the school believes physical activity is just as important. All pupils have at least two periods of sport and physical education each week. Music is also a big part of life at the school and all pupils in the first three years must study the subject.
