Nestled in beautiful and spacious private grounds in a North East Derbyshire village, Mount St Mary’s College is staffed by a community who are genuine in their compassion and commitment to the needs of the student.

We have an opportunity for an outstanding Modern Foreign Languages Teacher to lead and manage the Modern Foreign Languages Department at Mount St Mary’s College, one of North Derbyshire’s most successful Catholic Schools. Mount St Mary’s College is an 11-18 Independent Jesuit School of over 300 pupils. 

Leading a team of teaching staff, the post-holder will be an outstanding practitioner, required to teach French and Spanish up to A Level across all age and ability ranges.

As Academic Subject Leader, reporting to the Deputy Head (Academic), you will be an outstanding teacher, delivering consistently good and outstanding lessons, an excellent team player with the highest standards of professionalism and expectations of students. You will have up to date subject knowledge and a track record of success in maximising student progress across all key stages.

Mount St Mary’s College is an HMC independent day and boarding school for boys and girls, including A-Level studies. Our Preparatory School, Barlborough Hall is a day school and includes a Nursery provision. Following our most recent ISI inspection in October 2023, it was noted 'EYFS is effectively managed and the individual needs and abilities of the children are met in all areas of development.'

We are a special community with a proud history and a bright future, located in rural Derbyshire near Sheffield and Chesterfield. We offer 250 acres of picturesque grounds and a blend of traditional and modern facilities.

The recent ISI Inspection at Mount St Mary's College found that 'pupils feel safe in school' and there is a 'culture of vigilance which promotes the safeguarding and welfare of pupils.'
