Job overview

Opportunity to join one of Wirral’s top performing inclusive sixth forms and play a key role supporting students enrolled on the Advanced Academic Writing Programme.

The Advanced Academic Writing Programme (AAWP) is designed to improve the writing skills of students enrolled on Level 3 academic and vocational courses at The Sixth Form College. Some students find writing assignments and examination essays difficult and so require additional support in order to succeed and achieve their personal target grades.

You will be responsible for the day-to-day organisation of AAWP sessions, dealing with any immediate issues and communicating with colleagues and students as required. This will include preparing and planning lessons to deliver support to students on a 1:1 basis or in small groups, and actively providing formative assessment to monitor the progress of students who are referred from a range of different subjects.

Experience of delivering or supporting students through academic study is essential.
