Mossbourne Community Academy (MCA)

Mossbourne Community Academy opened its doors in 2004 as one of the country’s first academies. As the original Mossbourne academy, MCA redefined expectations of what it is possible to achieve at a non-selective inner-city academy. With consistently exceptional exam results and two consecutive ‘Outstanding’ Ofsted judgements, MCA is widely regarded as one of the best secondary academies in the country. Mossbourne Community Academy also has one of the most successful Sixth Forms in London, with over 80% of Mossbournian Sixth Formers achieving A*-B in their A Level exams, and every year 5-10% are offered places at Oxford and Cambridge.

Mossbourne Community Academy is renowned for its collaborative and friendly staff who are at the forefront of teaching and learning across the academy. MCA offers an inspirational working environment which nurtures the development of personal and professional excellence.

Set within the metropolitan borough of Hackney, MCA is in close proximity to London Overground stations, providing a no-fuss commute for colleagues living in other London boroughs. London’s fashionable ‘East and West Ends’, are also only a short distance away.

The Mossbourne Federation is a thriving network of Primary, Secondary and Sixth Form academies providing the children of Hackney and Thurrock with an outstanding education from Early Years to Post-16. The Mossbourne Ethos

The Mossbourne Federation is the realisation of Sir Clive Bourne’s dream to provide the children of Hackney with an outstanding education. Since 2004, the Federation has nurtured Sir Clive’s dream by fostering kind, courteous, hard-working, and well-rounded learners by providing an outstanding education based on the core values of ‘Excellence’, ‘No Excuses’ and ‘Unity’. We are delighted that on 1stJanuary 2025, Mossbourne has expended to include three new academies in Thurrock Essex.
