An exciting opportunity has arisen to join our Counselling team and we are seeking to employ an experienced, qualified (or working towards) Counsellor to work therapeutically with our young people. 

The role is committed to 16 hours per week, 38.6 weeks per year (44.2 paid weeks per year), with a focus on our Sixth Form students, on a fixed term (one year) contract for the Academy.  

The Academy Counsellor will have responsibility for supporting and promoting healthy psychological growth in all students.  Working within the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) Code of Ethics and Practice, the Counsellor will meet with students to facilitate this growth and to ensure an increased level of self-awareness.

You will also be given the opportunity to contribute towards the school’s Mental Health Working Party and its aim to achieve the School’s Mental Health and Wellbeing Action Plan.
