Charnwood College is looking to recruit an Academy Operations Manager to join our dynamic and highly skilled team.

This is an important and high-profile role working as part of the Academy Senior Leadership Team and in collaboration with the Central Operations Team. The Operations Manager will have responsibility for overseeing the day-to-day running of the Academy's operations and key school support services in the areas of Administration, Health & Safety, Maintenance & Facilities, Catering, Cleaning and Finance, in accordance with Trust policy and procedures.

37 hours per week, 52 weeks a year – permanent position.

Who we are looking for 

The successful candidate would preferably be educated to degree level or have proven, previous experience of working in an operational management role, either in the public or private sector.  Minimum qualification requirements are 5 GCSEs (A* to C or equivalent), including English and Mathematics and be a skilled user of Microsoft Office, with the ability to produce, create and edit documents using Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.

You must be able to work independently with little supervision, participate in senior meetings and manage extensive, ever-changing demands. The successful candidate must be highly organised, efficient, and able to work to tight deadlines, often under pressure. Previous experience of managing small teams is essential.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to relate well to a wider range of stakeholders are important. As is, the ability to organise, lead and motivate staff at all levels and experience of successfully managing contracts and contractors.

You will be expected to promote the safeguarding and welfare of children and young people across the Trust with a willingness to ensure that equal opportunities are promoted and developed to promote inclusion at all levels.

Charnwood College is a mixed, non-selective, non-denominational, 11-18 academy with sixth form, situated in the west of Loughborough in Leicestershire. The academy is part of the David Ross Education Trust and is governed by a Local Governing Body.

The secondary academy has expressive arts facilities which include a dedicated music suite and dance and drama studio. In addition, its sports facilities include a floodlit, all-weather 3G sports pitch, a new sports centre, a 25-metre indoor swimming pool, a gym, a fitness suite, and extensive playing fields.
