Kent College is a co-educational nursery, day and boarding school for pupils aged 0 to 18, located at two sites, set in exceptional grounds and gardens and with outstanding facilities.
The Accountant is responsible for the management of finances for the school and compliance with Charity Commission Guidelines, along with accountability for ensuring that the finance of the School's trading subsidiary is tightly managed. The role holder will report to the Bursar and have management responsibility for a team of three.
The successful candidate will have a degree, or equivalent qualification, in financial or management accounting, accompanied by experience in a busy environment with ever changing priorities and challenges, as well as being highly computer literate and confident with MS Excel. The role holder must be able to use their own initiative, have attention to detail and accuracy, whilst maintaining good communication with the team and the wider school community.

The pleasant red-brick buildings of Kent College are situated in a semi-rural position overlooking the beautiful cathedral city of Canterbury. The school sits in 80 acres (32 hectares) of land with extensive sports’ fields, a School Farm and a Riding Centre. The centre of Canterbury, with its wide selection of shops and restaurants is a 5-minute journey by car, while the school sports' fields back on to Blean Woods, one of the largest areas of ancient woodland in England. Summer 2019 brought the opening of a state-of-the-art 600-seater auditorium, The Great Hall. The hall is used by the whole school for worship and as a versatile and practical space for the college’s highly regarded drama and music departments as well as for being available for use by the local community.
The boarding community includes students from over 40 countries, and a particular strength is the International Study Centre, where students whose English language skills need development can receive specialist teaching and be progressively integrated into the mainstream curriculum.
