Primary Leadership Position
Achievement and Progression Leader

The Achievement and Progression Leader will be a qualified teacher with a passion for using data to inform decisions. Committed to British and International Education ideals the Achievement and Progression Leader will lead continuous school improvement as part of our Extended Primary Leadership Team. S/he will have strong personal management skills, excellent interpersonal skills and will contribute to teams in a positive, productive and constructive way.

Members of our Extended Primary Leadership Team play an integral role in the strategic leadership of each Campus; if successful you will contribute to the creation of a strong professional culture based on inter-disciplinary teamwork and lively professional dialogue.

The Achievement and Progression Leader will lead the Database Administrator and ensure that the standards of achievement and progression at the Primary Campus are of the highest possible levels. The post holder will report directly to the Vice-Principal with the responsibility for Achievement and Progression. There will be some teaching responsibility, but with a significantly reduced teaching load. We expect all leaders to be flexible and able to teach across the primary age.

It is essential that the Achievement and Progression Leader has an excellent knowledge of technology and the ability to learn how to use systems quickly. At KLASS we use a number of different reporting and assessment systems including iSAMS, Tapestry and Classroom Monitor. The ability to ensure that these systems ‘talk to’ each other is essential.

The Achievement and Progression leader will be responsible for aspects of the administration of iSAMS including the setting up and running of reports. A working knowledge of SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS) would be advantageous, but not essential, in this role. The post holder will maintain an accurate assessment database to analyse GL assessment data including CAT4 and the Progress Tests in English and Maths. S/he will work alongside staff to develop their use of data to better meet the needs of students, produce progress reports, set up management systems to track the progress of students and import target setting data. Alongside this, s/he will also support the school timetable development.

At KLASS you will be encouraged and nurtured to be the best leader and teacher you can be through continuous internal and external professional development, peer to peer review, monitoring and evaluation and personal study. This is truly a forward thinking and innovative environment to work and learn.

Please address all of these aspects in your letter of application. In addition, please ensure that your CV and letter clearly show how you meet the job description and person specification for this role.

The KLASS benefits package includes a highly competitive salary, a generous contribution towards housing, excellent medical insurance, contract renewal incentives, relocation flights and allowances and free school places for dependent children.

To apply, you MUST go through the online system at: https://klassjobs.com

Our students and teachers share a love of learning and thrive from their positive and enriching experience with us. Charlotte Moore, Head of Media for the secondary campus shares her views.

“As a family we are delighted to have made the move to Alice Smith and to be part of the vibrant community in KL. We are very grateful to all of the people at Alice Smith who have made our transition from the Middle East to South-East Asia, via the UK, so much easier.  People often ask me why we made the move across the globe to live and work in KL.  For me, the answer is quite simple: the ethos at Alice Smith matches exactly what I would want for my own children and for the students that I have taught, or am yet to teach. Giving each child the best possible experience and encouraging them to make each day count means so much. Whether that is in the classroom, or by giving students experiences that allow them to develop their own character and build relationships that are built on mutual respect and trust and celebrating difference whilst we embrace diversity. Just like I don't believe there is only one winner, I also don't believe in an academic hierarchy where some subjects are more worthy than others. Alice Smith supports students to walk a path of equal opportunity with enthusiasm, pride and an open-mind.  I am looking forward to this next adventure.”

The school is a founding member of the Federation of British International Schools in Asia (FOBISIA) and a long standing member of the Council of British International Schools (COBIS).  Alice Smith was accredited as a British School Overseas with an Excellent grading in both 2011 and 2014 and in March 2019, received an outstanding COBIS Patron’s Accreditation and Compliance Report.

The School is accommodated on two sites approximately 20 minutes apart, both campuses having exceptional resources and facilities. As an innovative user of technology, Alice Smith is a Google Apps for Education school working across both Windows and Mac platforms, utilising the power of Google sites and Google Classroom to provide tailored learning opportunities for our students.

Sic Itur Ad Astra - In this way you shall reach the stars.
