Director of Maths.

Tes is currently supporting a friendly and supportive secondary academy, based in Richmond upon Thames. The school is looking to add an Achievement Director of Maths to their progressive and supportive Maths Department ideally starting in September 2022.

The role will include directing the delivery of Maths at KS3 and GCSE and A-Level across year groups 7 to 13. You will lead your department to enhance provision and will get the chance to lead on exciting project work throughout the year. Project work may include revising schemes of work and ensuring the curriculum is engaging to all learners alongside projects that support student attainment, well-being and engagement within the wider school. However, as Director you will have full autonomy to ensure your department meets targets and exceeds the needs of our learners. You will lead by example, supporting and empowering your department’s teachers, staff and pupils to achieve to the best of their ability.

The Director will also line manage the Maths department, supporting the SLT link and Headteacher to ensure the department achieves to its maximum potential.

“They are situated in East Sheen, close to Richmond Park, which is the largest of the capital's eight Royal Parks and the biggest enclosed space in London. Richmond, Kingston and the West End are all between 15 and 30 minutes journey from the school and their proximity to central London means that students can benefit enormously from the vast range of social, cultural, sporting and academic opportunities that they are able to access. Their student body is diverse, exciting, and talented - and the same is true of their staff.

The successful candidate will provide professional leadership and management for students and staff within the Faculty. Be accountable for the results and performance of the subject areas within their Faculty. Support, develop and lead those Subject Leaders and their teams, thereby making a measurable contribution."

• A super supportive and highly visible SLT team and Headteacher;

• on-going CPD with programmes of study such as NPQSL and MA in Educational Leadership

• progression support throughout the school and wider group

• the chance to take on further responsibilities.
