Job overview

We are seeking to recruit a positive and motivated individual to the role of Achievement Mentor.  The primary purpose of this role is to motivate, inspire and encourage the most able students within the Academy to achieve highly and provide focused intervention in order to facilitate this.  

The successful candidate will; 

  • Have a University Degree or similar qualification
  • Have experience of working as a mentor/tutor or other similar experience
  • Have great numeracy and literacy skills
  • Have effective organisation and communication skills.
  • Will have good communication skills with the ability to work on your own initiative, but also be able to work flexibly as part of a team.
  • Be motivated, flexible and have a real passion for working with young adults at secondary school age.
  • Have a good understanding of child development and learning.
  • Have the ability to relate well with children and adults.
  • Have up to date knowledge of child protection and safeguarding.

Crofton Academy, part of Castleford Academy Trust, is an 11-16 mixed comprehensive of over 1,000 pupils offering a broad and balanced curriculum.
