Values and Vision

The school motto is "GOFAL". In English, this stands for “Giving opportunities for all to learn”; in Welsh, it is a word meaning "care". Llanidloes aims to create a happy and caring atmosphere; to offer a broad, balanced and relevant curriculum; to help all children reach their full potential; to foster excellence academically and personally; and to constantly reassess the school’s own goals in order to improve the quality of education.

The sixth-form college has the same aims, but also seeks to create an environment of responsibility and independence in order to prepare students for further and higher education.

Llanidloes also provides support for students with learning difficulties in its autistic spectrum disorder centre.

Estyn

“Many teachers plan lessons well, set high expectations for their pupils and establish effective working relationships that enable pupils to achieve their potential. The school has effective support systems that promote and encourage pupils’ wellbeing, attendance and academic progress. Attendance rates have improved year on year and are above those for pupils in similar schools.”
