Vulnerable Learners with Specialism in Child Protection and Safeguarding
Powys County Council Additional Learning Needs team is looking to appoint a manager for vulnerable learners with specific responsibility for child protection and safeguarding.
Supporting schools with their responsibilities through organisation of training and the local authority through policy development and implementation, the post holder will also represent the local authority at Professional Strategy meetings.
In addition the post holder will have responsibility for the attainment and progress of groups of learners who may be vulnerable to under attainment for example looked after children, Gypsy Roma and other travellers, child employment etc.
Support for those with SEN through the specialist centres in a specified area of the county, as well as responsibility for the allocation of top up resources at School Action Plus will also be an important part of the role. The post will work closely with health and social care colleagues as well as schools and provides an exciting opportunity for someone with a breadth of multiagency experience and skill with children and young people to take on strategic development in these crucial areas.
