Are you an experienced administrator looking for an Attendance Officer position in an 'Outstanding' school?

Glyn School is looking to appoint a skilled and proficient administrator to join our Administration Team as 6th Form Attendance Officer.

This role will be well suited for candidates who are experienced in an admin role gained in an educational environment. We are particularly interested in highly effective, proactive and resourceful applicants with relevant prior experience and a background in school attendance. We are an oversubscribed 11-18 secondary school with a large Sixth Form.

Your opportunity

The Sixth Form Attendance Officer will provide administrative support for student attendance ensuring Sixth Form registers are updated and investigating causes for absences in registers and liaising with students as necessary. The Sixth Form team at Glyn School are responsible for ensuring they demonstrate a commitment to providing a caring and stimulating environment within the Sixth Form area.  As part of a team, the post holder will  support students who are using study facilities throughout the school day and will work closely with other staff and Head of Sixth Form to help meet the needs of individual students.   

In addition the role will include maintaining stimulating display boards inside and outside of the study area; supporting students in building confidence and positive self-esteem;  providing regular feedback to the Sixth Form Leadership team and ensuring relevant policies are promoted at all times.

What we are looking for:

The successful candidate will need to:

  • Have prior experience and background in an administrative role ideally gained within an educational setting.
  • Have strong organisational abilities, including time management, creative thinking, problem solving and multi-tasking.
  • Ideally have previous knowledge of SIMS.
  • Have a keen eye for detail and accurate record keeping.
  • Have excellent communication skills.
  • Be able to prioritise work and committed to working as part of a team.

The Details:

Start date: 19th April 2022

Contract type: Permanent, Term-time only

Working Pattern: Part time (15 hours per week)  - we support flexible working arrangements

Pay Scale: GLF Associate 2, FTE Range £18,000 - £20,881

Salary: (15 hours per week, 39 weeks per year): £6,452.20 - £7,484.91
