Admin Assistant, School Administration

Heart of the Forest is a warm and vibrant special school where every pupil is valued and all achievements are celebrated.  Our school is a local authority maintained special school, providing the very best inclusive education for 125 pupils aged 4 to 19 years of age.  We offer a bold and brave curriculum for pupils who have Moderate Additional Learning Difficulties, Severe Learning Difficulties and Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties.  We aim to prepare our pupils for the wider world through a progressive and personalised teaching and learning journey that responds dynamically to the needs of each pupil, supporting, nurturing, encouraging independence and having fun along the way.  

We are seeking to appoint an experienced school Admin Assistant, working 28 hours/4 days per week, term time only, including inset days plus one week worked during the school holidays.  This is a Grade 3 post, pt 4-6, with a salary of £19,264.00-20,043 pro rata.   

The person appointed will be able to multi-task, work flexibly and have a ‘can do’ approach to work.  They will bring enthusiasm and positivity to the role and will thrive in a busy environment.  They will be the first point of contact for the school for parents and visitors and will work closely with other members of the school’s administration team. 

The successful candidate will have excellent people and communication skills. They will be a confident, competent user of IT equipment and software, especially MS Word, MS Excel.  Experience of using SIMS is preferred.
