Job overview

Ambitions Academies Trust (AAT) comprises schools from all sectors: Mainstream (Primary and Secondary) and Specialist.  AAT secures outstanding achievement and improved life chances for all our pupils.  Our Academies have “High Expectations” as the focus of their work.  We are strongly committed to supporting career development and offer excellent CPD opportunities.

Due to exciting developments within AAT, we currently have the following vacancies at Longspee Academy (Longspee Ensbury Park Campus – BH10 4HG)

Post: Admin Lead

Status: Full time, 37 hours a week, Permanent, Term time only

Salary Scale: AAT Grade 6 Points 16-22

Pro rata Salary: £20,381 - £22,952

Full-Time Equivalent Salary: £24,012 - £27,041

Longspee Academy is a thriving learning community, successful in providing outstanding education, care and support for pupils with Social, Emotional and Mental Health needs, alongside Autism. Further to partnership planning between AAT and BCP (the Local Authority), Longspee Academy will be opening a new site (the Longspee Ensbury Park Campus) following the Easter Break. As part of additional provision planning we will be opening to a small number of students during this academic year, with a growth strategy over 2021/2022 toward being a 54-place (when full) secondary school (KS3 / KS4) for students who present with ASD/SEMH.

Longspee Ensbury Park Campus (LEPC) will open for the Summer 2021 Term within a building which has been most recently known as Bournemouth Learning Centre (BLC). Initially constructed as a school, site works will be completed to ensure a high-quality learning environment for students with ASD/SEMH.

In support of this exciting development, and beginning in the Summer Term 2021, Longspee Academy is seeking to appoint a dynamic Admin Lead, who is looking for a rewarding role focused on improving the life-chances of our learners. We are looking for candidates who are passionate, skilled and ambitious.

The successful candidate will be part of an initially small but growing team at LEPC, with an opportunity to demonstrate partnership working. We will offer you the opportunity to become part of an ambitious team, working together with colleagues from specialist and mainstream contexts to ensure progress, excellence and system support at LEPC. LEPC will embed the overall core values and share our inspirational mantra “Happy, Safe, Progress” across Longspee Academy.

The role of Admin Lead is to provide (and lead on the development of), an efficient, effective and (at times) confidential administrative service within LEPC. This role will include: line managing other members of the administration / reception team to ensure efficient and effective teams; leading and being responsible for recruitment processes and procedures in line with AAT / Data Protection laws; partnership working and management of the Principal’s and LEPC diary, whilst ensuring SLT (Senior Leadership Team) system support; leading on the management and administration of LEPC Human Resources Matters (e.g. sickness absence procedures, payroll returns…etc…); ensuring that systems are in place to ensure statutory duties are completed in a timely manner (e.g. Annual Review processes); working within the policies and procedures of LEPC / AAT – which will include a wider network of support from within AAT.

In order to be successful in this role:

o You will be enthusiastic, motivated, focused, professional, personable, reflective and resilient

o You will be able to work successfully with a range of people, including the wider school community

o You will promote the vision and values of Ambitions Academies Trust at all times

We will provide:

o A consistent promotion of wellbeing support, including the promotion of a strong work / life balance

o A positive and welcoming environment, within an ethos of excellence for all

o The ability to be part of growing and exciting team, with the highest of aspirations

NB: whilst working at LEPC, you will become an employee within Ambitions Academies Trust. At times, AAT will need to use its resources flexibly to meet the needs of pupils within the Trust. All staff are therefore allocated to a place of work, however Ambitions Academies Trust reserves the right to require staff to support the needs of our pupils within the Trust in the future, as appropriate, which may involve re-location. This is not anticipated to be frequent or indeed regular but you should be aware of this status.

Closing date for applications: Monday 19th April 2021 at 09.00am

Interviews will take place: Thursday 22nd April 2021 (C19 Secure)

Start Date: ASAP
