Due to continued growth and success, Gorsey Bank Primary School is looking to appoint a pro-active and dedicated Administration Assistant into the team. This is a fantastic opportunity to join the Laurus Trust family, and to play a vital role in maintaining the high standards of the Trust. For the right candidate, we will work to genuine career progression Support staff work tirelessly to ensure all services run smoothly and efficiently, enabling our teaching staff to focus on delivering an outstanding education for our students.

Main Responsibilities

  • Support the School Services Manager (SSM) in ensuring the smooth running of the school.
  • Provide confidential administrative support including the preparation of documents and reports using Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Maintain an efficient filing system – both manually and electronically.
  • Input/extract information to and from computer databases including SIMS and ParentPay.
  • Maintain pupil records, information files and the school roll.
  • Manage, import and process new intake data and undertake tasks relating to the induction of new pupils.
  • Liaise with secondary and primary schools re data for new entrants/leavers including import/export mid-year transfer leavers data from SIMS.
  • Ensure the implementation of the school’s Admissions Policy and the Local Authority’s procedures for appeals.
  • Produce from SIMS, lists, reports, and spreadsheets as requested by various members of staff and outside agencies.
  • Carry out year-end processes in SIMS.
  • Undertake all administrative tasks relating to Parents’ Evening System, pupil reports and statutory testing/data submission.
  • Provide administrative support for wraparound care at the school’s Kids Club and Holiday Club.
  • Undertake tasks relating to the administration of educational visits and extra-curricular clubs.
  • Undertake other duties related to the work of the whole school appropriate to the post, as may be assigned.

Key Skills & Experience

  • Prior experience of working in an administrative support role is essential
  • Sound knowledge and experience of PC based applications
  • Sound educational background including GCSE’s in Maths and English (A*-C) or equivalent
  • Must possess excellent planning and organisational skills
  • Experience working in a school environment would be advantageous

Professional Development

We attach huge importance to continued Professional Learning and recognise that, in the exciting and ever-changing environment in which we work, we are all learners and are constantly looking for ways to improve our practice.
