About Chestnut Grove Academy

Chestnut Grove is a high performing, 11-18, multi-cultural school in Balham, South London, with a number of awards for its inclusive approach including UNICEF Gold Status (2022).

Creativity underpins the vision and ethos of Chestnut Grove Academy and it is enshrined in our motto ‘A Creative Learning Community’. Underpinning our motto is our mantra ‘PROUD’ which reflects our values of Positive, Resilience, Open-minded, Unified and Determined.

Academic excellence is the foundation of a Chestnut Grove education. We achieve some outstanding examination results, with students making excellent progress at both GCSE and A Level. This has enabled a record number of our students to gain entry into the University of their choice, with many heading off to Russell Group universities including Oxbridge.

When students join Chestnut Grove they become part of a vibrant and cohesive community where the child’s social development is valued just as much as his or her academic development.

Chestnut Grove has  undergone a multi-million pound building programme which has provided staff and students with modern buildings and facilities.

We are proud to be a part of the Wandle Learning Trust, a Multi-Academy Trust that builds on the success of the Wandle Learning Partnership, of which we are the lead strategic partner with Chesterton Primary School.
