Actual start/finish times are likely to be:

7.30am – 3.30pm Monday – Thursday and 7.30am – 3.00pm on Friday, or

8.00am – 4.00pm Monday – Thursday and 8.00am – 3.30pm on Friday

Term time includes working 2 out of 5 INSET days each academic year as directed by the academy, with availability to work any or all of the remaining 3 INSET days at short notice should the need arise, and for which additional payment will be made

Plus an additional 1 week of pay if the appointee has 5 years or more continuous service with the Local Authority

We are looking for an outstanding candidate to lead the academy administration team, to deliver an efficient and effective administration and communication service to our staff, students and parents/carers. 

The successful candidate will take responsibility for and manage the planning, development and monitoring of administrative support services, whole school systems, procedures and policies, ensuring effective staff management and supervision to achieve a consistent and efficient administration service which fully supports teaching and learning across the academy.

The ideal candidate will be an experienced administrator and a confident team leader, with the ability to manage and motivate a multi-discipline administrative team. They will be highly organised, able to balance multiple priorities and able to communicate and negotiate effectively, to ensure the administration needs of the academy are met. Proficiency in the use of management information systems including SIMs and other systems will be essential to success in this role.

This post would suit somebody who has experience working in an education or business environment at management/supervisory level, and who is ready to take the next step in their career.

Aston Academy is a mixed, comprehensive, non-denominational secondary school with sixth form situated in Swallownest, Sheffield. It is supported by the multi-academy Aston Community Education Trust, which provides specialist staff and expertise for three secondary schools and nine Junior. Aston is a larger than the average-sized secondary, Aston Academy provides 1,800 places for students aged 11-18, when fully subscribed.

Aston Community Education Trust was formed in May 2011 when Aston Academy, previously known as Aston Comprehensive School, converted to academy status.
