Required for 3 September 2019

A school like no other, Wellington College is one of the world’s leading co-educational boarding and day schools and has an enviable reputation for excellence and innovation. We’re currently looking for a well-organised and self-motivated individual with experience of providing administrative support, to join our Academic Support Department.

The Academic Support Department is responsible for tracking, monitoring and assessing pupils with Specific Learning difficulties in line with JCQ regulations and provides a holistic approach to supporting all pupils at the College with academic and pastoral needs. Join us, and you’ll play a vital role within our friendly team.

As an Administrative Assistant, you’ll be responsible for helping the Head of Academic Support prepare paperwork for JCQ (examination body) inspections. We’ll also rely on you to coordinate staff and parent meetings and arrange external assessments and review meetings. Liaising with colleagues to collect data to complete vital paperwork will be important too. You will also liaise with admissions for pre-entry assessment, updating our SEND register with new entries, arranging pupil lessons and liaising with outside agencies – all are elements of this interesting and varied role.

To succeed, you’ll need proven admin skills and knowledge of the JCQ Examination body for SEND. You’ll also need to be numerate, with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail and the ability to work as part of a team, as well as alone without direction. The communication skills it takes to effectively engage with colleagues, staff, visitors and, where applicable, pupils, are essential too, as is an adaptable approach and flexibility over working patterns. Reliable and responsible, you work well to deadlines, have a smart and professional appearance and are committed to contributing towards the College community.

Not only is this an excellent career development opportunity, it also comes with a generous salary and benefits package. So, if you are enthusiastic, ambitious and keen to continue to develop professionally, apply today.
