Coxlease School is an independent specialist day school, located near Lyndhurst, Hampshire - a beautiful setting in the heart of the New Forest.

We are proud of our excellent reputation for providing highly effective education, care, therapy, welfare and support for up to 107 pupils aged 5 to 19 years old who have difficulties regulating their emotional, social and mental health needs. They may also have other complex needs often associated with autistic spectrum conditions. We take an individual and inclusive approach to education, care, therapy and healthcare in order to provide our young people with the opportunity to make positive changes in their lives, develop as lifelong learners and integrate into the wider community. 

We are looking for a professional and highly effective administrator to co-ordinate and deal with the schools referrals process. The successful applicant will be the first point of contact for local authorities, parents and other key stakeholders. Duties will include; working with Headteachers and school SENCO to consider pupils referred to us, booking visits, assessments and producing the new starter paperwork.

In addition to supporting the referrals process, there will be times when you will be required to support other members of the administration team including covering the busy reception when needed. 

This is an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic and motivated individual looking to begin or develop a career in this environment. Good IT skills are essential, but no previous experience in a school setting is required as full training will be provided. This is a fast-paced and demanding role, and a high level of literacy and numeracy is essential. You will have excellent communication skills, a flexible approach, and be able to remain calm under pressure.

Communication – Communicating with our young people is vital to understand their needs. Positive working relationships, teamwork and communication play a key part in ensuring important information is relayed to other staff.

Organisation –You will need to be confident and organised in general office duties, minute taking and handling student records.

Attentive – No two tasks are the same, so being attentive to greet all visitors, answering telephone calls, booking in appointments, as well as scheduling reviews with other professions.
